My Experiences

Oxford, 2022
In 2022, I took part in Oxford Summer School, specifically taking the 2-week long Creative Industries course on the London campus. I studied with a small group under our professor, Deborah Alleyne de Gazon, who was the organizer of the Carnival festival in London in 2014. With her, we worked on a project regarding the role of national parks in the UK and applied the concepts we learned to our own personal projects.

Harvard, 2023
I applied to the Language and Thought course in Harvard Summer Courses. After getting accepted, I spent two weeks in the summer living on the Harvard campus and learning about psycholinguistics under professor and linguist Simge Topaloglu, along with 14 classmates and hundreds of other students in total. I wrote two papers, regarding the way we perceive and understand speech sounds and how the words we use are biased when discussing history and politics.

Aurangabad, 2023
For 2 weeks from late July to early August, I volunteered as part of the Pratham Youth Leaders Summer Program. There, fourteen others and I worked with children in the rural Maharashtrian villages of Bhadji and Bhandegaon on creative projects: art, skit, dance, or music, which was the team I was on. At the end of the two weeks, the we and the children performed in front of the village. We also helped vocational students, from 18-25 years old, at the PACE Center with conversational English.
